Michael Shullo received his Bachelors of Science and Doctor of Pharmacy degrees from the University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy in 1995 and 1997 respectively. He then completed his residency training in 1998, also at the University of Pittsburgh. Upon completion of the Pharmacy Practice Residency he joined the faculty of the University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy, first as a Clinical Instructor in 1998 and was then promoted to an Assistant Professor in 2000.
Dr. Shullo's clinical practice interests include Solid Organ Transplantation, Immunology and Cardiology. His direct patient care practice site is Thoracic Transplantation, working primarily with the Heart Transplantation Service with a specific interest in immunosuppressants and cardiovascular drug therapy.
Dr. Shullo's academic interests in teaching are focused on producing pharmacists with the educational foundation and clinical skills to be lifelong contributors to the profession of pharmacy. He employs an active learning method to educate students in multiple areas of the curriculum. Dr. Shullo is also a preceptor of a full complement of clerkship students and residents in the area of Transplantation.
Dr. Shullo's research interests include Clinical Outcomes in Solid Organ Transplantation.
