Welcome to the
Pharmacodynamic Research Center (PRC) Homepage

The Pharmacodynamic Research Center (PRC) was established in 1984 with pharmaceutical company support. As the PRC has matured over the past 17 years, its expertise and resources have expanded, and now functions as a consortium of faculty, staff, and students who pursue research in the areas of pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics, including metabolism and genetics. The members of the PRC have been extremely successful in generating collaborations with scientists and health professionals from diverse fields. These collaborations have resulted in research that has lead to numerous publications.

The PRC is presently composed of a dynamic group of faculty members and other professionals with diverse research expertise, skills, and interests. Students are an important part of the PRC. Every year, University of Pittsburgh pharmacy students may choose to do a research rotation at the Center. As a result of their experiences, these students frequently have the opportunity to author a publication, and subsequently pursue research training either at the University of Pittsburgh or elsewhere. Many graduate students have also chosen to pursue their doctoral training at the PRC in the clinical pharmaceutical sciences.

The Pharmacodynamic Research Center (PRC) exists for the purposes of:
