Dr. Minnigh received her BS in Chemistry (Summa Cum Laude) from Allegheny College and a PhD in Pharmacology from the University of Pittsburgh, School of Pharmacy. After teaching for five years in the Schools of Pharmacy and Nursing, where she was the recipient of the Chancellor's Distinguished Teaching Award, Dr. Minnigh left the University to work as Director of Research and Development in a clinical laboratory. There, she helped design and implement procedures used for monitoring of therapeutic drugs used primarily in cardiovascular and CNS disorders, with a special emphasis on the protein binding of drugs in children and neonates. Since her return to the University of Pittsburgh in 2005, Dr. Minnigh has been extensively involved in the teaching mission of several schools. Currently, as course coordinator and principal instructor in the School of Rehabilitation Science, she teaches general pharmacology to both undergraduate students and graduate students pursuing a doctorate in physical therapy. At the School of Pharmacy, Dr. Minnigh serves on the curriculum committee, and gives lectures primarily in the areas of medicinal chemistry and drug metabolism
