Associate Professor , Pharmacy and Therapeutics

Amy Lynn Seybert received her Bachelor of Science in 1994 from the University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy. She then completed the post-BS Doctor of Pharmacy program at the University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy in 1996. After receiving her degree, Dr. Seybert completed a Cardiovascular Critical Care Specialty Pharmacotherapy residency at Tampa General Hospital in 1997. Dr. Seybert then joined the faculty at the University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy in August of 1997. Dr. Seybert directs the Cardiovascular Specialty and Critical Care Specialty residencies at the University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy and is the Pharmaceutical Care Coordinator for Critical Care at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center Department of Pharmacy. Her clinical research specialty areas include heart failure, acute coronary syndromes, antiplatelet therapy, acute myocardial infarction, and simulation education. She is the first pharmacist to publish on simulation based learning within a school of pharmacy curriculum. Dr. Seybert has received a number of teaching awards, including the highest teaching honor at the University of Pittsburgh, The Chancellor’s Distinguished Teaching Award, Residency Preceptor of the Year, and Faculty of the Year. Dr. Seybert has received grant funding for expansion of simulation-based learning into the pharmacy curriculum and throughout other health care disciplines. Recently, Dr. Seybert has been appointed as Associate Director for Pharmacy Programs at the Peter M. Winter Institute for Simulation Education and Research (WISER Institute). Dr. Seybert has also been recently appointed to the Editorial Board for the American Journal of Pharmacy Education.
