Catherine B. Rebitch, PharmD, BCACPAssociate Professor, Pharmacy and Therapeutics
Catherine Rebitch joined the faculty at the University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy in September 2019. She is a native of Pittsburgh and received her PharmD from Duquesne University in 2009. After completing residency training at West Virginia University Hospitals (PGY1) and the University of Georgia/Charlie Norwood VA (PGY2 Ambulatory Care), she began her career in academia at the University of Georgia College of Pharmacy, where she was a faculty member from 2011 - 2019. She is board certified in ambulatory care pharmacy and is passionate about improving access to care for underserved populations, collaborating with medical providers and staff to optimize medication use, and training pharmacy residents and students. Dr. Rebitch maintains a clinical practice at UPMC Matilda Theiss, volunteers at the Birmingham Free Clinic, and coordinates PittPharmacy programming for the Medication Education & Wellness Center at the Homewood CEC. Within the PharmD curriculum, she co-coordinates Pharmacist Patient Care 1 & 2 (P1) and contributes to Nonprescription Therapies & Self-Care (P2).Â
Research interests: pharmacist management of chronic conditions in underserved populations, medication adherence, health literacy, social determinants of health, scholarship of teaching, interprofessional education
