Admissions Calendar for Fall 2009
May - September 2008
Register to take the PCAT exam (recommended June 21, 2008, August 23, 2008, and/or October 18, 2008) and have scores sent to PharmCAS, code 104. Applications are not complete until PCAT scores are received. Only completed applications are eligible for review and an interview. NOTE: Scores from the January 24, 2009, PCAT test will not be received until after interviews.
July - November 2008
Begin PharmCAS application and submit by midnight Eastern Standard Time on December 1, 2008! NOTE: It is highly recommended that you submit your application by November 1. It takes approximately 3 - 4 weeks for PharmCAS to verify applications once e-submitted and transcripts are received.
September - October 2008
Download Transcript Request Form from PharmCAS and submit a transcript request to ALL institutions attended. It is recommended to request that transcripts be submitted to PharmCAS in September or October. ALL transcripts must be received by December 1, 2008.
October 2008
Complete the PCAT exam and have scores sent to PharmCAS, code 104.
December 1, 2008
Deadline to e-submit PharmCAS application. Official transcripts and the three (3) required recommendations must be received by PharmCAS.
December 15 - December 31, 2008
As soon as fall grades are posted, update your fall grades on your PharmCAS application and send your official fall transcripts to PharmCAS. Download a Transcript Request Form from PharmCAS and submit to the institution where fall grades were obtained. NOTE: Fall grades cannot be updated until PharmCAS verifies and mails your application to us. If you waited until December 1 to e-submit, you will not be eligible to update fall grades unitl mid-January. When an application is complete with fall grades or 48+ required credits, it will be reviewed by the committee for consideration for an interview.
To eliminate any unforeseen problems, it is recommended that you submit your application early; i.e., November 1. This will ensure that if any issues arise, they can be investigated and resolved before the December 1 deadline.
January 5, 2009
Supplemental Application must be e-submitted to the University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy by Monday January 5, 2009. You may e-submit the Supplemental Application anytime after Organic Chemistry I and/or fall grades grade are recorded on the Academic Prerequisite Form and before January 5. ( If you have completed all of your required courses, you may e-submit the SupplementalAapplication anytime before January 5, 2009.)
December 2008 - February 2009
Completed applications will be considered for interviews. Interviews will be by invitation only.
February and March 2009
Interviews will be held in February and March (Dates TBA)
April 15, 2009
Admissions decisions are finalized and all applicants are mailed their status. You must formally accept our offer of admission. Accepted and waitlisted applicants must submit a spring grade report as soon as grades are posted. Official transcripts must be submitted to the School of Pharmacy by June 1, 2009.
