Why Must I Verify Prerequisite Course Work?
The descriptors listed under some prerequisites are only some of the key components that must be covered in a course. When fulfilling these prerequisites with course work from your college or university, there may be differences in the names of courses, the number of credits you are required to take, and the number of units you must complete.

How do I get an approved course list?
Approved course lists are available on the transfer credit file.

How is Credit Awarded?

What if I don't account for all prerequisites?
If you don't account for all prerequisites your application will be canceled. All required Math and Science courses must be taken before the summer term of 2009. All other courses must be taken before enrollment (fall term 2009).

If a course is not on the list, please review the transfer credit file's University of Pittsburgh course descriptions to compare them to your institutions courses.

What if my institutions is not listed?
The transfer credit file contains approved course lists for universities or colleges attended by the majority of our applicants. However, an approved course list might not be available for your institution. If your institution does not have an approved course list, please review the transfer credit file's University of Pittsburgh course descriptions and compare them to your institution's courses.

Advanced Placement Tests
Transfer students must provide a copy of the official test score report from ETS. University of Pittsburgh students must provide a copy of their School of Arts and Sciences Advanced Placement Credit Evaluation form.

If after reviewing the University of Pittsburgh's course descriptions, you are unsure of if your course meets our requirement, submit a course description of the course in question to the School of Pharmacy.

If a course is not listed on the Academic Prerequisite Record form, then it may not be used to meet the prerequisite. We do not accept petitions for course substitutions at this time.
