Health Insurance for PhD Students

The University will provide individual health insurance under the UPMC Health Plan for Teaching Assistants. An option to purchase family coverage under the same plan is available at a rate equal to the difference betweeen family coverage and individual coverage. Options to purchase dental and vision insurance are also available. Further details regarding the insurance plans and other program information will be provided at the orientation preceding the start of the TA appointment or can be found by clicking here.

Students enrolled in the Clinical Pharmaceutical Scientist Program and working as a CSA may purchase health insurance from UPMC at a reduced rate.
