The University of Pittsburgh Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences offers summer research internships for students considering a career in basic or clinical research. These internships provide promising candidates the opportunity to experience research by engaging in an intensive eight-week research program. You will select from predefined research projects, to be completed during the internship under the direction of a faculty advisor. In addition to laboratory work, you will be required to complete specified research training modules, and attend weekly discussion sessions and graduate student seminars. At the end of the internship, you will prepare an abstract and poster, and give a ten-minute slide presentation to the faculty, graduate students, and interns.
Outcomes:
Hours, Stipends and Academic Credits
Full-time participation for a period of eight weeks is required. Students accepted into the program will receive a stipend of $3200, less housing expenses, and paid travel expenses. Students who complete the program can receive academic credit in lieu of a stipend when arranged in advance.
