Program: PhD Track: Pharmacology Advisor: Wen Xie, MD, PhD
I am a rising second year PhD student who is currently interested in pathology and translational researched within the context of the liver. One of my current projects focuses on steatohepatitis and the role that the nuclear receptor PXR plays as a driving factor for pathogenesis. My second project focuses on the role SULT2B1b, a sulfotransferase implicated in mediating gluconeogenesis, has on lipid metabolism in the liver. Overall, I hope to expand my research into investigated the mechanisms which drive hepatocellular carcinoma and discovering potential therapeutic targets. Beyond my research, I hope to improve my ability as both a public speaker and educator as I progress through the program.
