Implementation Science and PharmacoAnalytics Fellowship

The University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy, Department of Pharmacy and Therapeutics, in partnership with UPMC offers a 2-year fellowship designed to provide a strong foundation in pharmacoanalytics, practice implementation, and clinical outcomes expertise that is essential for leadership in contemporary pharmacy practice. Implementation Science involves the scientific study of methods to promote the systematic uptake of quality improvement findings and other evidence-based practices into routine clinical care, and therefore is used to improve the quality and effectiveness of health services. The fellowship aligns closely with our cardiovascular translational research program at UPMC and PittPharmacy.

Fellows will:
  • Conduct research with the objective of advancing the science and application of implementation science; pharmacoanalytics; translational and clinical outcomes research; and clinical informatics.
  • Participate in ongoing clinical and research initiatives including implementation science, pharmacoanalytics, clinical outcomes, and pharmacogenomics programs currently deployed across the UPMC system, as well as funded cardiovascular translational research projects.
  • Be mentored by University of Pittsburgh and UPMC leaders within the School of Pharmacy, the Heart and Vascular Institute, and the Clinical and Translational Science Institute.
  • Gain core learning experiences through mentored research and development (70% effort), teaching (20% effort), and patient care (10% effort).
