PGY1 Pharmacy

I am one of the 2025-2026 PGY1 pharmacy residents at UPMC Presbyterian Shadyside (Shadyside Campus). I earned my PharmD and MSBE at LECOM School of Pharmacy in Erie. During that time, I worked in retail pharmacy for 5 years before transitioning into my new residency role. I have a clinical interest in infectious diseases, emergency medicine, and ambulatory care. My professional interests extend to academia and the prospect of teaching future pharmacy learners, whether in the classroom or in a clinical setting. I was drawn to UPMC Shadyside for its unique combination of rotations that reflect my diverse interests and offer the opportunity to help me become an extremely well-rounded clinical pharmacist. I was able to form welcoming, genuine connections with the pharmacists here during my interview, and knew that I would enjoy having the chance to practice here. I am looking forward to a year full of growth, new challenges, and experiences that shape my future career, with hopes of stepping into a specialized clinical role. Please contact me if you have any questions at bolashab@upmc.edu!
