I am a master’s student from Uruguay working in the Fernandez Lab. I have a strong interest in gene regulation and cancer biology. My research focuses on characterizing a potential enhancer region of the NFATC2 gene, a transcription factor with a key role in leukemia. Previous work in the lab showed that a SNP in this region increases NFATC2 expression, and I am currently using molecular biology techniques to investigate whether this locus acts as a functional enhancer.
