Michael Hair

UPMC Shadyside
PGY2 Emergency Medicine

Michael's clinical interests include emergency medicine and critical care. Outside of pharmacy he enjoys playing the piano and visiting national parks. He chose Mercy because the emergency department provides the perfect atmosphere for learning through both the wide variety of medical problems seen and the collaborative nature of the emergency physicians. The preceptors are also very dedicated to the learning of pharmacy residents and students.

Reason for attending
When going through the interview process, every single person I talked to at UPMC Shadyside was welcoming and friendly. After starting my residency, I have seen a culture of every pharmacist being willing to help improve my learning experience. There are many opportunities for experiences in ambulatory care settings including family and internal medicine, as well as an elective oncology rotation if any of those interest you!
