Biographical Sketch Noah Long is currently a Doctor of Pharmacy that recently graduated from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore School of Pharmacy (UMES SOP) in 2023 with the honor of Magna Cum Laude and being ranked 3rd in his class. After graduating and becoming licensed, Noah accepted a job at CVS Health where he obtained almost 2 years of experience as a retail pharmacist, helping his hometown community of Harford County, Maryland. For undergraduate school, he attended Towson University for a semester and then went back home and attended Harford Community College where he completed his prerequisites for pharmacy school. Currently, Noah is a resident pharmacist at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. When it comes to pharmacy Noah is interested in infectious diseases, cardiology, oncology, pharmacokinetics, and community pharmacy. He is working on research projects in the field of infectious diseases about the relationship between genetic testing, susceptibilities, and antibiotic use, as well as Cefazolin use in patients with a documented Cephalosporin allergy. Noah plans on becoming a professor and wants to teach pharmacy at a school in his home state of MD, possibly his alma mater. He believes it would be great to educate the next generation of pharmacists coming after him just as those did for him. Noah’s father was a math teacher which inspires him to become a teacher. Noah picked up a lot of teaching skills throughout his life from his father and always enjoyed helping his fellow classmates in pharmacy school when they needed it. This program will help Noah get the proper training he needs to be an effective educator and ultimately bring him satisfaction by being able to make a difference and help people that are in the same position that he once was.
