Yuqian Zhao

Yuqian Zhao is a PhD candidate in Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Pittsburgh, School of Pharmacy working under the mentorship of Dr. Thomas Nolin within the Center for Clinical Pharmaceutical Sciences. She earned her BS in Biological Sciences from the University of California, Davis in 2021 and her MS in Pharmaceutics from the University of Washington School of Pharmacy in 2023 prior to joining the PhD program. Her dissertation research explores the effects of critical illness and sepsis-associated acute kidney injury (SA-AKI) on clinically relevant drug transporter pathways, leveraging metformin, a clinical transporter probe substrate, to mechanistically evaluate transporter-mediated alterations.
