Pitt Pharmacy Guarantee Applicant

The pharmacy guarantee is awarded to high school applicants to the University of Pittsburgh who apply for first-year admission. The pharmacy guarantee is awarded at all Pitt campuses, including Pitt Pittsburgh, Pitt Bradford, Pitt Greensburg, and Pitt Johnstown.

While completing the preprofessional coursework in the Dietrich School of Arts and Sciences, students awarded guaranteed admission to the PharmD program must:

  • Earn a letter grade of a C or above in all individual prerequisite courses in the Dietrich School of Arts and Sciences or regional campus
  • Achieve a 3.25 or greater cumulative GPA of all prerequisite courses combined
  • Achieve a 3.25 or greater cumulative GPA of the required math and science courses combined
    • Note: all students with the pharmacy guarantee must complete all math and science courses at the University of Pittsburgh
  • AP, Dual Enrollment, or college in high school credits may be be used to fulfill prerequisite course requirements on a case-by-case basis
  • Successfully interview, when invited, during the admissions process
  • Complete the PharmCAS application and any additional admissions materials as part of the PharmD admissions process during the second year at Pitt when requested. View the application process page.
