Amy Calabrese Donihi was awarded the Distinguished Associate Award from the American Association of Clinical Endocrinology (AACE)

AMy Donihi receiving the awardAmy Calabrese Donihi, PharmD, BCPS, BC-ADM, FCCP was awarded the Distinguished Associate Award from the American Association of Clinical Endocrinology (AACE) on May 11, 2024 during the AACE Annual Meeting 2024 in New Orleans. This award, new for 2024, recognizes a non-physician (RN, NP, PA, PharmD, RD, LISW) who is an exemplary collaborator within their endocrine team. Dr. Donihi is a professor of pharmacy and therapeutics at the University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy. Her clinical practice and research interests focus on inpatient diabetes management, diabetes education, diabetes technology, and facilitation of safe transitions for patients from hospital to home. Dr. Donihi has been a member of the UPMC Diabetes Patient Safety Committee (DPSC) since its inception in 2001, and she has served as co-chair of this system-wide committee since 2010. Through her work with the DPSC, she has collaborated with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers to develop, implement, and assess hospital-wide standardized protocols that target inpatient diabetes and hyperglycemia management.
